When can my puppy have their first groom?
Many puppies start once they’re comfortable being handled at least two weeks after the second vaccinations. If you’re unsure, book a Little Pup Spa & Fluff and add your puppy’s age and any concerns.
We welcome any fully vaccinated puppy to visit for a treat or into without a groom and we recommend the visit a few times whenever they are around to build trust with the location and our team. We don't charge for a treat into visit.
What is a Puppy Intro Groom?
It’s a calm, confidence-building session focused on:
• Getting used to the bath/dryer sounds (gently)
• Handling paws, face, and brushing
• short, positive steps rather than a long “full” groom
• Twice! Natural warm baths, light conditioner, light fluff'n'brush, nail trim, and cuddly finishing touches.
The goal is a great first experience that sets your puppy up for stress-free grooming long-term.
How can I prepare my puppy for grooming at home?
In short daily sessions (1–3 minutes):
• Touch paws, ears, tail, and reward calm behaviour.
• Practice gentle brushing.
• Let them hear hairdryer sounds from a distance (no heat, low setting) and reward.
This makes a huge difference to confidence and cooperation.
